What is Life Coaching to me?

Life coaching is a transformative journey of self-discovery, revealing that the answers and solutions lie within us. It brings clarity, fostering a new way of thinking that empowers us to understand what we truly want and why. When this clarity is achieved:

- Fears diminish as we gain a deeper sense of purpose.

- Decisiveness improves because our goals are clear.

- Confidence soars with the newfound willpower and determination.

- Uncertainty becomes manageable since we continue seeking the best path forward.

- Motivation and direction align, propelling us on our chosen path to learn, experience, and achieve more.

Through this journey, effective teamwork is established between the coach and the client. The ultimate success of life coaching is when the coach is no longer needed for that specific issue, signifying true accomplishment and growth.

The Dash

For myself, this also begs the question: What or who matters most? What is this little line worth - the dash between these years? Do I really live and love? Do my loved ones consider my dash meaningful and significant? Am I making an impact? Moreover, how do I feel about my own dash?

With this curiosity, I have always been fascinated and drawn to people. As a true empath, I am interested in how others think, do, act, and are. I want to know how people really are and how I may support someone to think differently, find their own truths and strengths, and expand their own YOU-nique magnificence.

I believe that my soul purpose (and sole purpose) is to share my own authenticity and vulnerability with my world, to be real. So, I spend my dash leaving people different - better, by their own cognisance or choice, than I found them. I hug the hurt, kiss the broken, befriend the lost, and love the lonely. In this way, may it be true that I am a reason for the world to believe in good people.

The Dash by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.

He referred to the dates on the tombstone,
From the beginning… to the end.

He noted that first came the date of birth,
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That they spent alive on earth,
And now only those who loved them
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love,
And how we spend our dash.

So, think about this long and hard,
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real,
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more,
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read,
With your life’s actions to rehash,
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?
